Our electric car is just amazing

Nissan Leat at the horse stables east of Windhoek

We bought our Nissan Leaf (2014 model) in October 2022 and are really, really happy with this new member of the family. We had a solar system installed at our house earlier the year and were looking for an electric car to refinance the solar system on the long run by saving on petrol - A very good decision!

We are only using Petrol stations now to buy Brötchens or draw some Cash at the ATM. Well, for going to Swakop we still have a bakkie, but all inner-city matters are done with our electric car: Shopping, business meetings, driving around the children, smaller excursions to some farms in the surroundings of Windhoek... With a range of around 120 km, we can also do a Sunday trip to Farm Montechristo, or drive our daughter to the riding stables in the east of Windhoek. We were a bit skeptical to use our Leaf on gravel, but even in the rainy season we can drive everywhere we want.

The Nissan Leaf itself is an amazing car. Firstly, the Leaf is really fun to drive (the performance of this electronic car is excellent), secondly, it's just nice to know that you're only driving with sunlight (very eco-friendly and no emissions at all) and thirdly, it's good that you no longer have your car serviced every 10.000 km (lower maintenance due to an efficient electric motor).

In any case, we would like to thank Electric Vehicles Namibia for help us getting this wonderful little electric car, for their totally uncomplicated organization of all the papers and stuff and also for their vision to bring electric cars to Namibia in general. Well done!
